Allu Sirish to star in Dulquer’s ‘ABCD’ Telugu remake
Starring Dulquer Salmaan in the lead role, ‘ABCD’ (American Born Confused Desi) is a much loved movie by the youngsters in Mollywood. Released in the year 2013, this Martin Prakkat directorial saw DQ essaying the role of a young spoiled brat NRI youngster, getting stuck here in India. The movie was well received and was a superhit. Now, the movie is all set to be remade to Telugu and it will be Allu Sirish, who is going to reprise the role of Dulquer in the Telugu version of ‘ABCD’. Brother to Allu Arjun, the star is sure to capitalize on the commercial value of the script.
According to the reports, it will be debutante Sanjiv Reddy, who is going to direct the Telugu version of ‘ABCD’. While we are not expecting much a change from the Malayalam version, it however is been reported that there would a marked change, when it comes to the Telugu version. Some unconfirmed sources report that, the Telugu version would be cutting down the character of Korah (Jacob Gregory). The move is believed to give more attention towards the central character – Johns. Since there is a vast diaspora of Telugu families in the US, the story can be easily connected with the audience. In fact, the commercial value of the script, has reportedly wooed Allu Sirish to sign in the project right away. The casting process is on progress, while makers are expected to come up with an official mark soon in the coming days.
Narrating the story of two NRI cousins and the way they got trapped in Kerala, ‘ABCD’ took no time to find its place in the hearts of movie going audience in Kerala. A satire in essence, ‘ABCD’ mocked politics as well as many unhealthy practices in the Kerala society. Well, the biggest challenge, which Allu Sirish is going to face in this remake is, the inevitable comparison, which is going to be made with that of the performance of Dulquer Salmaan.
