Pirated versions of Mammootty starrer ‘Uncle’ reached online portals

Four days into the theaters, Mammootty starrer ‘Uncle’ is receiving some good comments from round the corners. While the movie has managed to find an appeal among the critics, it has also minted good figure at the box office. However, ‘Uncle’ is facing a big hurdle now, with the pirated versions of the movie reaching online spaces. The pirated version of the movie has already reached the websites of Tamil Rockers, on the third day of its release itself. While it is not known from where the movie was captured, makers are after tackling the latest found situation. Since sites like Tamil Rockers work on IP spooling methods, it might not be easy for makers to completely remove the pirated versions from internet, and track the sources.

Earlier, released on Friday, last week, ‘Uncle’ went onto get mostly positive reviews. Conveying a strong message, ‘Uncle’ was in fact an attempt to break the fake notions, which the society wears. Mocking the moral policing act of the society, this Gireesh Damodar directorial was based on the script penned by Joy Mathew. The story revolves around the character of Megastar’s KK (Krishna Kumar), who is a businessman. Actress Karthika Muralidharan is featured as a teenage girl, who goes on a trip with KK. ‘Uncle’ stars Muthumani, Joy Mathew and to name a host of known faces. Though released along with a number of movies, ‘Uncle’, backed by the strong word of mouth, has exhibited a reasonably good business at Kerala box office. According to the reports, the movie has managed to withstand the ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ storm at the Cochin multiplexes.

However, with a number of movies getting ready to hit big screens this week, and the week after, the box office fate of ‘Uncle’ relies heavily on its first week run. Like we mentioned earlier, it has to be seen how ‘Uncle’ performs amidst the piracy issues.
