With Tamil Nadu state film awards being announced after a long 6 years, the filmy fraternity is brimming with joyous faces. Also, it would be interesting to see the award presentation ceremony, where the number of winners, is going to be huge. The announcement was met with smiles from not just Tamil film industry, but from the rest of the South Indian film industries as well; especially Malayalam cinema industry, which has bagged as much as 6 winners in the list.
However, the announcement wasn’t without any controversy as well. The most prominent one to be featured in the list is that of director Suseenthiran’s, who has come up with a tweet criticizing the list announced by the jury. The tweet, which appeared to have the image of his own handwritten complaint, expressed his disappointment for featuring none of his films. Expressing the disappointment for not considering the ones like ‘Azhagarsamiyin Kuthirai’ and ‘Naan Magaan Alla’, he also felt sorry for Anal Arasu for not being considered in the fight choreography category for the film ‘Vande Maataram’ as well. However, it must be added that the director has also heartily thanked Tamil Nadu CM Edapadi Pazhanisamy for resuming state awards after a while.
